We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that runs an annual furry convention in Milwaukee, WI.We are an entirely volunteer-run operation, and everything we accomplish is only possible thanks to the hard work of our dedicated staff across a wide range of teams. Our staff generously donate their time and energy to bring this incredible convention to the Midwest Furry Community.
TIME COMMITMENT
Time commitments vary between departments, some are more involved than others. All staff members are expected to work during the convention, though the level of involvement differs by position. Some roles also require a year-round commitment, which can be discussed with department directors.Want to help out without a big time commitment? Accessibility
The Accessibility department helps FurSquared better support attendees, staff, and guests who may need accommodations or accessibility-minded solutions. Team members assist with communication, problem-solving, and coordination to help improve access, comfort, and inclusion across the event space. This department requires professionalism, empathy, discretion, and a willingness to work collaboratively with multiple teams. Accessibility is a meaningful fit for individuals who care deeply about inclusion and want to help create a convention experience that works for a wide range of needs.
Art
The Art department helps shape the visual identity of FurSquared through themed artwork, printed materials, signage, badges, and other creative assets. Team members may support design coordination, art production, asset organization, and collaboration with other departments to meet event needs. This department values creativity, communication, and follow-through, especially when working within deadlines and shared style direction. Art is a strong fit for individuals who enjoy collaborative creative work and want to help bring the convention experience to life visually.
Artist Alley

Audio Visual
The A/V department supports the audio and visual needs that help programming, performances, and other event activities run smoothly. Team members may assist with equipment setup, troubleshooting, room support, and coordination to help ensure presenters and performers have what they need. This department benefits from calm problem-solvers who are comfortable working with equipment and responding to changing event conditions. A/V is well suited for individuals who enjoy technical support work and want to help deliver a polished attendee experience.
Charity

Communications
The Communications department helps share FurSquared updates, announcements, and community facing messaging across social media and other public channels. Team members may assist with post planning, content coordination, timely updates, and maintaining a friendly, on-brand public presence. This department plays an important role in helping attendees stay informed and engaged before and during the event. Communications is a strong fit for individuals who are organized, audience-aware, and comfortable representing the convention in a professional and approachable way.
Con Suite
The Con Suite team supports attendee hospitality by maintaining a clean, welcoming, and well-stocked space for Sponsor and Super Sponsor attendees. Staff members help with tasks such as stocking snacks and drinks, tidying the area, and checking badges so the space runs smoothly. This department is a strong fit for individuals who enjoy guest service, teamwork, and creating a positive convention experience. Con Suite staff should expect to contribute about 8.5 hours during the convention, including loading and unloading.

Dealers Den
Dealer’s Den supports the artists, makers, and vendors who help create a vibrant marketplace experience at FurSquared. This department helps with table coordination, dealer communication, load-in support, and maintaining a professional and organized sales environment during the event. Staff in this area should be comfortable assisting with logistics, answering questions, and helping both dealers and attendees navigate the space. Dealer’s Den is a great fit for people who are attentive, approachable, and enjoy supporting a busy convention-facing operation.

Programming
The Programming department helps plan, schedule, and coordinate the events attendees experience throughout FurSquared. During the convention, staff may assist with panel check-ins, attendance counts, room readiness, and other on-site event needs. This department is a strong fit for people who are organized, dependable, and enjoy helping create a well-rounded event schedule.

Radio
The Radio department helps support internal event communication by maintaining and coordinating radio equipment used by staff and leadership teams. This may include preparing radios for distribution, tracking equipment, helping with basic troubleshooting, and supporting communication readiness during the convention. Team members contribute to smooth operations by helping departments stay connected in a timely and organized way. Radio is a strong fit for people who are dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable supporting operational communication tools.
Registration
The Registration department serves as the first point of contact for attendees and helps create a friendly, efficient, and welcoming arrival experience. Staff members assist with check-in, badge and swag distribution, and clear attendee guidance throughout the weekend. Success in this department depends on strong communication, teamwork, and the ability to remain calm and helpful in a fast-paced environment. Registration is well suited for individuals who enjoy working directly with people and setting a positive tone for the event.
Staff Lounge
The Staff Hospitality department focuses on supporting FurSquared staff members during the event by helping provide a welcoming and well-managed hospitality experience. This work may include organizing food service support, maintaining a clean serving area, monitoring supplies, and helping staff receive meals or refreshments efficiently. Team members help create a positive and supportive environment for the people working hard behind the scenes of the convention. This department is well suited for individuals who enjoy service-focused work, teamwork, and helping staff feel appreciated and cared for.
Swag
The Swag department helps prepare, organize, and distribute convention items that are included with attendee registration and special membership levels. This may involve sorting materials, coordinating with Registration, and helping ensure items are packaged accurately and ready on time. Team members play an important role in keeping distribution organized so attendees receive the correct items in a smooth and professional manner. This department is ideal for people who enjoy detail-oriented work, inventory handling, and behind-the-scenes event support.
Table Top Gaming
The Gaming department helps create fun, interactive spaces where attendees can gather for tabletop, card, party, and other game-based activities. Staff may assist with room readiness, schedule support, check-in needs, and helping attendees have a welcoming and organized experience in gaming areas. This department benefits from people who are reliable, friendly, and comfortable helping manage activity flow in a lively environment. Gaming is an excellent fit for team members who enjoy community engagement and helping facilitate entertainment throughout the convention.
Technology
The Technology department develops and supports the technical systems that help FurSquared operate effectively before and during the convention. This work may include building web applications and services, as well as assisting with the setup, distribution, and configuration of event equipment outside of A/V. The department collaborates with many other teams and focuses on practical solutions that improve staff operations and attendee experience over time. Technology work often begins several months before the event, with contributors supporting projects on a regular basis leading into the convention.

Volunteers
The Volunteering department helps recruit, organize, and support volunteers who assist FurSquared during the event.
